Clinical Supervision for Black Women Pre-Licensed Clinicians in Tennessee & Florida

Therapy is a radical act of resistance.

But being a Black woman therapist? That’s a whole other level. You’re not only navigating systems that weren’t built for you—you’re also expected to heal within them.

That’s why I offer clinical supervision that centers you, the whole you. The version of you who’s tired of code-switching.

The version who wants to practice in alignment with your values. And the version who deserves to be guided by someone who truly gets it.

Helping Black Women Therapists Grow into Their Full Power—Without Shrinking Themselves

Even if you were taught to "tough it out," even if your past supervision felt performative or out of touch, supervision with me is:

  • Anti-racist

  • Womanist-informed

  • Culturally responsive

  • Grounded in maternal care and social justice advocacy

There’s space here for you to be real, safe, and seen.

Two women sit in leather chairs, computers stacked on a small table in front of them. They lean in facing eachother, smiling and talking

Does this Sound Familiar?

You’re in the final stretch before licensure, but you’re:

  • Second-guessing your instincts because your supervisor didn’t affirm your clinical intuition

  • Carrying racial microaggressions into session without a space to process

  • Struggling to find your voice when it comes to advocating for yourself or your clients

  • Questioning if you’re "professional enough" when what you really mean is "too Black," "too honest," or "too whole"

  • Tired of feeling like your work isn’t enough—when you’re already giving your all

Supervision should feel like a place where you can exhale.

You are not the problem. The systems were not designed with you in mind.

Supervision That Nourishes.

What if your supervision space:

  • Encouraged your critical consciousness, not just your case notes?

  • Validated your cultural self and helped you grow your clinical voice?

  • Helped you integrate your lived experiences with your therapeutic approach?

  • Felt like a blend of rigor, reflection, and radical care?

That’s what I offer.

Hi, I’m Dr. Cecily Moore.

I’m a licensed professional counselor and clinical supervisor in Tennessee and Florida, with over a decade of experience as a therapist, educator, and advocate. My work focuses on the mental health, professional identity, and wellness of Black women—especially those navigating the burdens of the Strong Black Woman narrative.

I use a Womanist Supervision Framework that is culturally responsive, anti-racist, and rooted in maternal care. I believe supervision should not only help you become a skilled clinician—it should also help you become more of yourself.

What Is Womanist Supervision?

Womanist supervision is more than a style—it’s a stance:

  • Centers the cultural self of the supervisee

  • Cultivates critical consciousness around systems of oppression

  • Embraces maternal care and community orientation

  • Encourages spiritual integration without requiring religiosity

  • Focuses on power dynamics in both supervision and therapy relationships

This healing-centered supervision is rooted in the belief that Black women clinicians deserve to be whole, safe, and well—even during the supervision journey.

You Deserve a Supervision Space That Honors You.

Many Black women clinicians have had to:

  • Perform under watchful eyes

  • Translate their culture for others

  • Silence their intuition to fit dominant clinical models

But here’s the truth: There is no liberation in white-knuckling your way to licensure.

In supervision with me, we’ll work through cases, yes. But we’ll also talk about embodiment, burnout, advocacy, and identity.

You’ll leave with:

  • Clinical competence

  • A strong, culturally anchored case conceptualization style

  • The confidence to honor your truth in clinical spaces

  • A sense of home in your professional identity

What You Can Expect:

  • Individual and group supervision offered virtually

  • Available for LPC and LMHC licensure tracks in Tennessee and Florida

  • Tailored supervision plans that meet your specific clinical and cultural needs

  • Support with case conceptualization, self-awareness, advocacy, boundaries, and ethical decision-making

  • A space that’s deeply rooted in healing, not performance

This Is for You If…

✔ You want a supervisor who shares lived experience and professional insight

✔ You’re committed to unlearning internalized oppression as part of your clinical growth

✔ You value healing, community, and rest as part of your professional journey

✔ You’re ready to thrive in your work without leaving parts of yourself behind

This isn’t for you if…

✘ You prefer a more hierarchical or traditional approach to supervision

✘ You’re not open to exploring identity, race, or social justice issues in the work

✘ You’re not seeking a culturally responsive or anti-racist lens

“Do I have to live in Tennessee or Florida?”

You must be licensed or pursuing licensure in Tennessee or Florida. Supervision is provided virtually, so you can join from anywhere within those states.

“What supervision model do you use?”

I use a culturally responsive, anti-racist, Womanist supervision model rooted in social justice, maternal care, and critical consciousness.
